Description:
The fibers, 250μm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high
modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant
filling compound. A Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) locates in the
center of core as a non-metallic strength member. The tubes (and
fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and
circular core. An Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) is applied
around the cable core. Then the cable core is covered with a thin
polyethylene (PE) inner sheath, which is filled with jelly to
protect it from water ingress. After a corrugated steel tape armor
is applied, the cable is completed with a PE outer sheath.

The GYFTA53 fiber optic cable is designed with specific technical
parameters that ensure durability and reliable performance in
underground applications. The cable has a consistent diameter of
16.8 mm across its variations, with a weight of 255 kg/km. It is
capable of withstanding tensile strengths of 1000 N for long-term
use and up to 3000 N for short-term conditions. Additionally, it
demonstrates excellent crush resistance, tolerating 1000 N/100 mm
in long-term scenarios and 3000 N/100 mm in short-term situations.
The bending radius is specified as 10 times the cable diameter for
static conditions and 20 times the diameter for dynamic
applications.
Regarding optical fiber performance, the G.652 fiber features
attenuation levels of ≤0.36 dB/km at 1310 nm and ≤0.22 dB/km at
1550 nm. The G.655 fiber has slightly higher attenuation at ≤0.40
dB/km and ≤0.23 dB/km for the same wavelengths, respectively.
Multimode fibers with core sizes of 50/125 μm and 62.5/125 μm
exhibit attenuation values of ≤3.0 dB/km at 850 nm and ≤1.0 dB/km
at 1300 nm. Their bandwidths vary, with the 50/125 μm fiber
offering ≥500 MHz·km at 850 nm and ≥1000 MHz·km at 1300 nm, while
the 62.5/125 μm fiber provides ≥200 MHz·km and ≥600 MHz·km at the
same wavelengths. Numerical aperture values are 0.200±0.015 NA for
the 50/125 μm fiber and 0.275±0.015 NA for the 62.5/125 μm fiber.
The cut-off wavelength is ≤1260 nm for G.652 fibers and ≤1480 nm
for G.655 fibers.
